1teaspoonfresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
1teaspoonfresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)
to tastesalt and pepper
1tablespoonolive oil
as neededlemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
Begin by seasoning the steak cubes with salt and pepper on all sides.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak bites in a single layer. Sear the steak for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or cook to your desired doneness. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until they are golden brown and have released their moisture.
Push the mushrooms to one side of the skillet, then add the butter and minced garlic to the other side. Let the garlic cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant, before stirring into the mushrooms.
Add the thyme and parsley to the mushroom and garlic mixture, stirring to combine.
Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet, mixing everything together. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the steak is warmed through.
Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if necessary.
Notes
Serve on a rustic wooden board or decorative platter, garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.
