Ingredients
  

4 Italian sausages (mild or spicy, your choice)

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 medium onion, thinly sliced (preferably red or yellow)

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Crusty bread or hoagie rolls (optional, for serving)

Instructions
 

Cook the Sausages: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the Italian sausages and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until they are browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and let rest for a few minutes before slicing them into bite-sized pieces.

    Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onion, red, yellow, and green bell peppers. Sauté the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are softened but still crisp.

      Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, until fragrant.

        Combine Everything: Lower the heat and add the cooked sausage pieces back into the skillet. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and toss everything together. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

          Serve: If desired, serve the sausage and pepper mixture in hoagie rolls or alongside crusty bread. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and flavor.
