Ingredients

2 lbs boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornstarch

2 eggs, beaten

1 1/2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon grated ginger

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the flour and cornstarch. Dip each piece of chicken into the beaten eggs first, then coat thoroughly in the flour-cornstarch mix. Set aside.

Fry the Chicken: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces in batches, without overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the Orange Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

Combine: In a large bowl, toss the crispy chicken pieces with the orange sauce until evenly coated.

Serve: Transfer the Orange Chicken to a serving platter, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
